The Skating Fields series muses on a number of Canadian landscapes animated by ice skating. In the tradition of 16th and 17th century Dutch masters like Bruegel and Avercamp, each scene is marked by a unified ground of sky and ice that pushes the figures human activity forward in contrast.   

Grouse Summit depicts an outdoor ice skating rink at the top of Grouse Mountain
