David Guenter is a Canadian Architect and Artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. His artistic works primarily explore the medium of pigmented gypsum plaster on wood formats, with reoccurring seasonal studies of spring floral, autumn foliage, and winter landscape themes.

Though painterly in appearance, the works are not created with paint and brush, but rather with construction tooling methods that bear the marks of industrial fabrication.   Screwdrivers, wrenches, chisels and pallet knives are used to stamp, carve, and incise the shapes that make up the compositions.  Chalk pieces are often cast into the plaster media, and act as an abstract counterpoint to the fluid and marbled fields of colour achieved by the plaster.
