The A+ series of work excavates
into the memory of elementary school chalkboards: beneath the surface strata we
discover an archaeology of chalk pieces that our teachers might have used to
introduce us to the basic letters, numbers and shapes of language.
My goal in producing these works is to create an unambiguously positive image that recalls and affirms a mindset of basic, elementary learning.
